About FVDES Alfred Hubner I was born and raised in Chilliwack B.C. After graduating from Chilliwack Senior Secondary School I attended Fraser Valley College for my first year of post-secondary education. That year introduced me to the wonders of life-long learning and traveling. I then went on to receive a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia in 1981. I recently completed the TLITE (Teaching and Learning in an Information Technology Environment) graduate diploma program at Simon Fraser University. For 18 years I taught in Alternate Education programs in the Chilliwack School District. This has enabled me to teach various grade 8 – 12 courses such as Industrial Education/Technology Education, English, Social Studies, Math, and Sciences. I presently teach the online courses of English 9, Social Studies 9, and Social Studies 10 at the Fraser Valley Distance Education School. I have always been involved with many sports and outdoor activities. I still enjoy camping, playing hockey and baseball, and practicing karate at the dojo with my son. My travels have enabled me to experience many different cultures, places and activities. Some of these include snorkeling the reefs of Australia, surviving the 2-day Yukon River Bathtub Race, and relaxing on the beaches of Mexico. « Back |
