About FVDES

Robert A. Wilson

Low Incidence Program Coordinator

I was born in London, Ontario, and since the age of 3 years have lived in British Columbia at New Westminster, Pender Island, Victoria, Quesnel and Chilliwack. I graduated from Victoria High School, enrolled in the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria and received my Bachelor and Master of Education degrees from the University of Victoria.

As an educator for 28 years, I have taught all core subject areas from grade 3 to 12 inclusive. After 12 years teaching in the secondary and elementary regular classroom, I earned my Learning Assistance Certification and enjoyed my role as Learning Assistance Teacher in intermediate and middle school grades for 13 years. The last 3 years I have been a Special Education Teacher and Low Incidence Program Coordinator at FVDES.

For most of my teaching career I have been interested in two areas: the special needs of students with severe challenges and the innovative uses of computers and peripherals to meet the needs of these students. These two interests drew me naturally to FVDES and to this unique, imaginative and creative program of which I am proud to be a part.

Please e-mail me at bwilson@fvdes.com should you have any questions regarding the Special Needs Program for Low Incidence students.
