About FVDES Diane Smith I began my teaching career in Prince George, B.C. where I taught in an Elementary school for four years. I spent the next four years in Toronto teaching in a Special Ed. Classroom. Upon moving to Chilliwack, I taught at several different sites as an L.A./Resource room teacher and for the past 17 years as an E.S.L. teacher at Central Elementary Community School. My appointment at FVDES in the Special Ed/L.A. dept. is an exciting challenge that I know I am going to thoroughly enjoy. I am working with a great team and I am finding the whole FVDES staff is very supportive and encouraging. What a great environment in which to work! On a personal note, my husband David and I live in the beautiful Ryder Lake area. We have two children, Lindsey and Clark—who are almost out of the nest. My interests are all aspects of the great outdoors, golfing, cycling, gardening, quilting, sewing and cooking up unusual and interesting concoctions in the kitchen. I look forward to getting to know the many families that I will be working with here at FVDES. Learning is a life long journey and being able to witness the sparks of discovery in the eyes of students is such a privilege! o. « Back |
