About FVDES Graeme Wilson (Vice Principal) I'm the vice principal at FVDES. I’ve worked for Chilliwack School District as a Technology Education teacher, Computer Helping Teacher, and Curriculum Coordinator for Math, Science and Technology. I developed computer-based curriculum for Technology Education called the Technology Wheel and have published over thirty computer-based curricular software titles. I was on the Technology Education 8-10 IRP Writing Team and the Science 7 IRP Revision Team, I’ve recently written for Open School’s online and paper-based Social Studies 7 and Language Arts 7 programs. I received the Marshall McLuhan Distinguished Teacher Awards for both B.C. and Canada, the Hilroy Award for B.C. and the Prime Minister's Award for my online work. I’ve been a summer lecturer in UBC’s Technology Education Teacher Training Program and have mentored teachers through the Simon Fraser TLITE program (Teaching and Learning in an Educational Environment) and the San Diego Masters Program. I have recently completed my Masters in Distributed Learning. My wife and I spent several years in the backwoods of British Columbia and we built a log house on twelve acres beside the Kettle River. We cut down our own logs, split our own shakes for the roof, and built our stone fireplace with river rock. I have traveled to many remote parts of the world, including the Middle East, Afghanistan, Kashmir, India and Mt. Everest in Nepal. I particularly like skiing, golf and kayaking, and I have a very patient wife, Sharon and two daughters; Katie is a teacher and Krista is an environmental health inspector. « Back |
