About FVDES Ian Wills Position: FVDES Technician I'm one of the technology team members here at FVDES. I bring a unique combination of professional training and experiences in and outside of the technology field to our collective skill set. Prior to working here, I have supported a variety of businesses and home users from small operations to multi-national insurance companies. I've had the pleasure of making friends around the country and learning some great skills at the same time. I've obtained certifications from Microsoft and CompTIA in professional support of personal computers and operating systems. In addition I've had training from Cisco Communications, Apple Computers, and various infrastructure support services such as Sonicwall network security hardware. Currently, I am studying to write my Apple Certified Macintosh Technician certification. Outside of technology, I have strong roots in my community of friends in the automotive industry. As an active member of the local motorsports association, I have volunteered and organized several gathering and legal racing events over the past few years. I strongly believe in keeping racing off the streets and on a sanctioned track, and strive for established events to support this goal. I myself have competed in the National Hot Rod Diesel Association, winning First Place in the two sanctioned bracket-racing events I competed in for 2007. Hopefully the 2008 season will bring more trophies! I grew up in the Nootka Sound on the west side of Vancouver Island, in a community called Tahsis. When I'm on vacation, you'll likely find me there fishing off the coast for Halibut and Chinook Salmon. I have an active interest in photography and videography as well, producing some shorts for a past employer and managing digital media in marketing and web design. If you've got any questions about Photoshop or Premiere, I'd be happy to help you. Feel free to drop me a message or give me a phone call, my "door" is always open. « Back |
