Low Incidence Program at FVDES

I was born in Westmount, Quebec but at the age of 9 moved to Canadian Forces Base in Kingston, Ontario. I graduated Grade 13 from LaSalle Secondary School in the Fine Arts Program.

In 1976 my husband and I, along with our 10 month old son, packed up and moved to Chilliwack. We have made Chilliwack our home with our four children. For many years I volunteered at my children’s schools. When my youngest started school I decided to rejoin the workforce and chose to enter the education field.

In 1987 I began as a noon hour supervisor and started my career as a special needs Teacher Assistant in 1988. I have worked with a variety of special needs students and enjoy the many challenges and rewards the job has to offer. After 17 years in the regular school system the opportunity arose for me to take a position at FVDES. I joined the staff of the low incidence program in February. I value the chance to be a part of such a program.
