About FVDES

Paul DeGagné

Paul DeGagné is a grade 7 teacher at F.V.D.E.S. Paul was born in St-Boniface, Manitoba in a Francophone family. He learned English at school. Paul has lived in California (5 years)and Paris, France (5 years).

He enjoys traveling and has been to Japan, Korea, England, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Israel and Mauritius and most recently, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos where he visited the tribal peoples of the north.

Paul has been living and teaching in the lower mainland since 1986. He is married (his wife is also a teacher) and has two children (14 and15 yrs old). He received his teaching degree from Simon Fraser University and was trained in the French Immersion Programme. Before coming to Chilliwack and Fraser Valley Distance Education School, he worked at WJ Mouat Secondary as a teacher and French Department head. He enjoys training students in Public Speaking and Essay writing. Some of his students have experienced success on the provincial and national levels.

Likes: travel, digital photography, painting on walls and canvas, art galleries, cooking up a storm, good movies, good music, swimming.
