Vicki Willis

Hello, my name is Vicki Willis. I teach Planning 10 and am involved with the Visual Media Arts program that is being developed.
In my years before becoming a teacher I have done many interesting jobs. Some of those include short order cook, seamstress, heavy equipment operator in Asbestos and copper lead zinc mines, wife, mother, swim instructor, lifeguard, first aid instructor and aerobic instructor.

I was an Education Assistant in Chilliwack for nearly 10 years before becoming a teacher. I graduated from University of the Fraser Valley and Simon Fraser University in 2004. My majors cover History and Geography. After getting my teaching degree I spent one year in Shanxi, China teaching Social Studies 10, Computer 10 and Planning 10 to Chinese students. It was a very exciting time and made me very aware of how lucky we are in Canada in very many different ways. Now some of those students are studying here in BC at the different universities. Here at FVDES I have been very fortunate working with colleagues that are knowledgeable in technology and online learning helping me to help students and love my job.

Some of my hobbies include camping, hiking, photography and scrapbooking. In the last few years I have gained a new hobby, my grandson Kai who is always a ready model for my photography.
