"Daily Physical Activity" and "Physical Education": What are they and what is the difference?

Your Goals:

  • Demonstrate experiences in five PE areas (individual activities, games, alternative environments, dance, gymnastics) AND three physical activity components (strength, endurance, and flexibility).

Choices:

  • Plan your own program and choose your own activities, which might range from something as simple as walking the dog to participation in individual or team sports in their community. (Be sure to plan a program that focusses on all PE and activity skills.)
  • Participate in programs provided by Fraser Valley Distance Education School and by community groups and associations. (Be sure to plan a program that focusses on all PE and activity skills.)

SAFETY NOTES

  • If you have any concerns about starting a physical activity program, please consult your doctor. If for some reason you are unable to participate, please provide a note from your doctor.
  • Drink water before, during, and after physical actvities.
  • Always warm-up before exercising. Start with a few minutes of easy walking or jogging, then do some slow, smooth stretches.
