Le Carnaval de Quebec

INTRODUCTION:

Your family is planning to go on a three-day winter vacation. Imagine that you want nothing more than to go to the famous Carnaval de Quebec (Quebec Winter Carnival)! However, because they didn't take French in grades 5 and 6, they know nothing about it. How can you convince them that this is an event the whole family will enjoy?

THE TASK:

Your task is to convince your family that they would enjoy going to the Carnaval with you. You will learn about the history and events of the Carnaval and prepare a presentation (in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, website software, digital video, or....) to share with your family (actually your teacher) that will convince them that the Carnaval will be a SUPER experience for all of you.

Are you ready to take a voyage (trip) to Quebec for the Carnaval? Amuse-toi! (Have fun!) Start with the first activity and complete the remaining activities in order, sil-vous-plait (please).

THE PROCESS:

1. First you will watch a video that will provide you with a glimpse of the Carnaval de Quebec and become familiar with a Carnaval song.

Go to Activitie 1: Bonhomme, Bonhomme

2. Then you will read about the history of the Carnaval and the activities found at the modern-day Carnaval.

Go to Activitie 2: Read All About It!

3. Finally, you will create a presentation that will convince people that the Carnaval would be a great place to go for a holiday.

4. Email your presentation to your teacher.
