SENDING IN WORK

It is important to send a completed section of work to your teacher as soon as it is finished. We strongly encourage weekly submissions.  This helps to ensure good communication with the teacher and allows for regular feedback.

Before mailing your child's work, check to see that the Send-In Activities or Assignment Booklets have been completed.  Add comments and feedback.

Mailing Instructions

For Mailed Assignments:

  • Send several assignments in one envelope.  Do not send incomplete assignments.
  • Make sure your name is on each piece of work that is submitted.
  • Please carefully place in order each assignment and staple each completed send-in activity.
  • The student’s name and return address should be on the outside of the envelope.
  • Please attach one of your teacher’s labels on the outside of your send-in envelope so your assignments can be directed more quickly.
  • Please be sure to include a return address cover sheet that has been COMPLETELY filled in (city, postal code, etc.).
  • Where there is more than one student in a home, put the work of each student in a separate envelope and write the teacher's name on the envelope. Mail the envelopes separately, not tied together.

For e-Mailed Assignments

  • In the subject of your message, please indicate the course and assignment (For example, Lang Arts Mod 1 Sec 1  OR Social Studies Mod1 Assign A) and be sure you have put your name on the attached work ( in the header where applicable).
  • Don’t forget to attach the work.
  • Please indicate in the body of the email what specific work is attached, especially when multiple assignments are submitted

Remember to Review Returned Work

The arrival of a student's work at the school is recorded, and the work is marked by a teacher, who keeps a record of each student's marks. Then the work is returned. Where more review is needed, the student is asked to make the necessary corrections.

When the marked work comes back from your Distance Education School, go over it carefully with your student. Pay close attention to the advice given by the teacher.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO DO THE CORRECTIONS CAREFULLY. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY HINDER YOUR CHILD'S PROGRESS. YOUR CHILD'S TASK WILL BE EASIER IN THE FUTURE IF ALL STAGES HAVE BEEN MASTERED.
