Academic Integrity Policy: Consequences

Range Of Consequences For Plagiarism

Consequences for students caught copying or plagiarising will be severe and can range from:

  1. A grade of zero (0) for the assignment in question with no opportunity to make up that work in any way, including extra credit work.

  2. If the severity of the situation merits it, the student may be given a grade of F for the course, switched to a paper based course and required to start the course over.

  3. For any subsequent occurrence in any course student shall immediately be dropped from the course and receive an F for a final grade.

  4. In unusual situations, where the gravity of the infraction is so great, FVDES Administration reserves the right to administer consequences beyond the identified range.
