Description: 

In this course you will be further developing your food preparation skills and learning new techniques. This course will introduce you to more exotic ingredients, cultural foods and formal table etiquette.  You will also be looking at world food issues such as biotechnology and food, world hunger and learning more about why we eat the foods we do and how the nutrients (or lack of) affect the way we live and how our bodies function.  The course consists of five (5) modules that will be entirely completed online with no paper-based materials. Cooking experiences will be completed in your home and evidence of the process and the product must be submitted.  On average, this course will require between 100 and 120 hours of study to complete.
