This course is designed to further develop your cooking skills, through the preparation of a variety of food products with an emphasis on nutrition, meal planning, and food service.  You will be looking at the “why” of culinary skills, as well as the “how”.  The principles of cooking will be reviewed, including safety and sanitation, preparation techniques and terminology.  Social and cultural aspects of food will also be considered.

The course consists of five (5) modules which will be entirely completed online with no paper-based materials.  Cooking experiences will be completed in your home and evidence of the process and the product must be submitted.

 

On average, this course will require between 100 and 120 hours of study to complete.
