Elementary Learning Assistance

Reading Instruction - Some children do not learn to read as easily as others. These children often need direct and systematic instruction to learn to read. At FVDES we can provide your child with regular instruction or we can provide assistance and guidance to parents who have specific concerns.

Standardized Testing – test that assesses a student’s aptitude by comparing to a standard.

Diagnostic Testing – will help to determine the specific nature of learning problems.

IEP’s – an individual education plan is for a child unable to complete the regular program. It is required that substantial changes to a child’s program are officially documented. 

School Based Team  - a team that meets as a problem-solving unit and to co-ordinate support services for students with special needs.
