Secondary Program Overview
The FVDES Secondary program offers a high level of flexibility while providing a British Columbia Ministry of Education approved curriculum in over fifty courses.
The high degree of choice provided by our course selection enables students to:
- Enroll as full time students with FVDES
- Enroll as a part-time student
- Take individual courses
- Complete courses at their personal pace (one year maximum duration).

We provide flexibility and choice in education to meet a wide variety of learning needs for students:
- Who are British Columbia residents
- Wishing to complete their education at home
- Unable to attend school
- Traveling
- With challenging schedules (athletes, performers, etc.)
- Who wish to add to their existing educational programs
- Have graduated and want to upgrade
- Wish to develop other interests/skills
Students enrolled in courses at FVDES:
- Receive resource materials (refundable deposit may be required)
- Subject-specialist teachers in all courses
- Access to a broad range of resources
- Facilitates interactivity between students, parents, and teachers
- Online learning environment (online courses only)
- Virtual online classroom to provide:
- Large group instruction
- One-on-one tutorials
- Use of an integrated program of email, discussion groups, online testing, and online grades is available to students at all times
- Virtual online classroom to provide:
Students at FVDES may also receive:
- A Macintosh computer for FVDES students taking 4 or more online courses (if required and available - refundable deposit is required)
- Software
- Online technical support
