Activity 2: Writing Assignment (10 marks)
This assignment is for the purpose of gaining an understanding of your current writing skills, including both your strengths and challenges. It will be assessed using the Grade 8 Provincial Impromptu Writing Rubric. It will be used as a tool to help the teacher assess how to assist you and as a baseline to measure improvement in your writing abilities during this course.
Please write a paragraph or two on one of the following topics. The writing needs to be a minimum of 10 sentences. Please take time to plan your brief essay and to demonstrate your best work. Perhaps make a brainstorming web. This will be assessed as representative of your writing ability at this point in your education. It is recommended that you take about an hour to plan and write.
- Your first memory.
- If you could invite two people to your house for dinner, who would you invite and why?
- Your perfect vacation.
