The old adage that "the children are our future" was beyond question in Nazi policy.
German youth were all eventually compelled to join the Hitler Youth movement. By World War Two, all civilian youth groups (like the Catholic Youth Movement and the Scouts) were banned. The Hitler Youth supplemented the national education system, and extended the state's control over children for much of the day and evening.
The Hitler Youth became a very complex organization, with different levels for male and female youths. As they got older, boys were groomed for war and girls were prepared for motherhood. Nazi indoctrination and fitness were common elements at all levels.
Both stamps feature the Nazi racial preference for blond, Nordic (and uniformed) caucasians.
