Installing FirstClass: Macintosh

You first need to install the FirstClass software on your computer. If you are using an FVDES school computer, FirstClass has already been installed for you, however you will need to still setup FirstClass for your account.


To install FirstClass for Macintoh OSX please complete the following steps (instructions for Installing FirstClass on Windows click here):

Please Note: FVDES School Computers already have FirstClass installed - if using an FVDES school computer please proceed to the next lesson.

Step One: Download FirstClass using the links located to the right. Select the version for your computer.

Download the FirstClass installer to the desktop of your computer.


Step Two: Locate the FirstClass disk image file icon on your computer and double-click on the icon. The computer will automatically start decompressing the file and will create a disk image icon and open the icon to show the FirstClass installer program inside.

Double-click the FirstClass installer program.

Step Three: Once the FirstClass installer starts, follow through the required steps to install the software.

Note: It is recommended that you allow the standard installation including all of the offered folders and shortcuts.

Step Four: After the installation is complete, FirstClass will likely start on your computer.

Step Five: You can delete the FirstClass disk file, disk image, and installer program icons, but keep the FirstClass program icon in your dock. FirstClass Icons Image

After Installing FirstClass - I Tested It and FirstClass Didn't Work!

After you have finished installing FirstClass, the FirstClass software automatically started. You may have typed in your FVDES / FirstClass username and password and noticed that you could not login and received an error message.
